Tragedies in the Cowra Shire

The stories in this book remind us of the progress in society that has been achieved in the last century. So many of these tragedies would not have happened if modern methods of communication, medical expertise, fire-fighting and flood mitigation had been available.

The stories recounted in this book have been collected from the pages of newspapers, mainly (but not always) local ones, and range from 1852 to 1949. There is a very comprehensive surname index containing over 500 entries.
