St John the Evangelist Anglican Church Cowra Baptism Transcriptions 1878 – 1919

One of a set of 3 books taken from the entries in the original registers which were still at the church and had not been previously transcribed. Most baptisms took place in Cowra, but as the Ministers travelled to many outlying areas of the St John’s parish, such as Back Creek; Bennett Springs; Canimbla; Canowindra; Holmwood; Koorawatha; Morongla; Neila and Wattamondara, all baptisms were recorded in the Cowra church register.

Each book also includes anecdotes and stories on the incumbents, information about outlying churches and a brief history of the original and current church.

The Baptism book covers the years 1878 to 1919 and contains an alphabetical list of 2,691 entries plus 21 images.
